1. How do I request samples and literature? There are several ways to do this; Samples can be requested on-line by saving part number selections in "RFI" (Request for Information). Once you are satisfied with your item listing in "RFI", you can select the "Review/Send Request" button to have the information sent to us for quotes and/or samples. When you submit your request, a copy of the request is stored in the "Review Sent Requests" section for future reference. In addition, there is a form you can electronically submit to Sales or you can call us during business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm M-F, CST, USA) toll-free at 1-800-447-0343 and ask to speak to a sales representative or market manager.
A TriMark catalog is available by filling out the catalog request form and click the submit button to have a TriMark product catalog sent to you. If you do not want a complete catalog and have an interest in a few specific products, Technical Publications are available to view/print online by selecting the Technical Publication button located on the individual Product Platform page.
2. What is the lead-time for samples and quotations?Samples and quotations for part numbers that have the status code of A/A (active/available) are usually available in 3-5 days. Part numbers that have the status code of NA/BO (non-active/build to order) will take a little longer as this part is only available as "build to order". Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing/scheduling. The status code is shown on the far right of the platform results chart.
3. What is the difference between the TriMark Part Number and the catalog number? The TriMark part number is used within TriMark's MRP system and is a random part number assigned to the finished goods and components (12345-XX). The catalog number is a part number assigned to the product that has a significant code built-in that defines the product and it's features. The relationship of the 2 numbers is exclusive, so either number can be used to identify the product. However, not all parts in the TriMark e-catalog have a TriMark part number assigned to it, only those parts that have A/A (active/available) status.
4. What is the difference between "My Info" and "Favorites"?"My Info" or "RFI" (Request for Information) works as a cart and allows you to generate a list of items from our online catalog. Once you are satisfied with your item listing in "RFI", you can select the "Review/Send Request" button to have the information sent to us for obtaining orders, quotes, samples, or designing solutions for your application. From "RFI", you can add items to a "Favorites" list that you have created.
Using the "Favorites List" feature enables you to create up to 10 savable lists of items you want to keep track of and name your lists for easy identification (e.g. MyProject#, MyApplication, etc.) To start a "Favorites List", either create a new one or add an item from the "RFI" page; your list will be created automatically. You can create up to 10 lists however; you can only manage one list at a time. The "Current Favorite" listed is the only list you can add/remove items, change its title or move items to "RFI" for requesting information. The "Favorites Manager" displays all lists you have created. To view a list, select on the appropriate list name under "Favorites Manager". To change your "Default Favorites List", first view the list by selecting the appropriate list name under "Favorites Manager" then select the "Make Default" button to make the current favorite as your "Default Favorites List". Note - you must be a registered user to use "Favorites". Please see question # 10.

You can enter a TriMark part number (ex. 12345-XX) or a Catalog number (ex. 0500100-XXX-XXXXX-XXX). You may type all or a portion of the number, but the more complete the name/number is the more focused the search results will be. Hint: The Catalog Number is 7 characters and is the same as the TriMark product codes.
You can use "Wild Cards" for searches where you do not know the complete number. Here are some guidelines for Wild Card searches:

We need to try to identify what TriMark product it is. A brief description of the relative size, shape and color is helpful. The Platform number and name will assist us in quickly identifying the key that is required. (Example: 060-0650 Motor Home Entrance Door Hardware With Dead Bolt)

3. How do I determine the correct handing of a product? Some TriMark products require the same-handed product as the door and for some, product handing is an aspect of product function. The following is a general rule of thumb that applies to door conventions: The handing of a door is determined by the position of the hinges when facing the door from the outside of the unit.
Left hand door - The hinges are on the left side of the door Right hand door - The hinges are on the right side of the door
Most of TriMark applications are for doors that open outward (towards you) and hinged in front. Inward opening doors and "suicide doors" may not follow this convention.

1.How can I find the opposite hand of a part number that I know?
2. I cannot find the product or part number for which I am searching. What should I do?
1. How can I find the opposite hand of a part number that I know? There are 2 ways to do this within the TriMark e-catalog:.
If the product is a Feature-Based platform (A feature based platform has a table of product features that you can select from to build a part number), then you can review the table of features for the product you are trying to match, and select the exact same features except the handing, and the opposite hand will result.
Another way is to copy and paste the catalog number from the part you know into the TriMark "Quick Search" and select the "Search by Number" category. The Catalog number consists of the product code number followed by a string of numbers (ex. 0500100-XXX-XXXXX-XXX). Change the first character of the first field (Bold face) to the handing desired and the results will show the opposite hand product. (Note: Products that are latches must also have the first character of the second field of 5 characters changed to match the handing).
1 = Right hand 2 = Left hand

You may type all or a portion of the number, but the more complete the name/number is the more focused the search results will be. Hint: The Catalog Number is 7 characters and is the same as the TriMark product codes.
IYou can use "Wild Cards" for searches where you do not know the complete number. Here are some guidelines for Wild Card searches:
