070-1000 8mm Hoop Strike

The 070-1000 8mm Hoop Strike is designed as a companion part for use with TriMark's single rotor latches that requires an 8mm diameter strike and compliance to FMVSS 206 (ECE R11).

Material

Hoop material is medium carbon steel, heat treated for strength and long life

Installation

(2) M6 x 1 class 10.9 flat head fasteners are required (not included)
Tighten to the fastener manufacturers' recommended torque value, however, do not exceed 135 in-lbs (15.0 N-m)
It is recommended that the hoop strike is mounted to the aperture with the TriMark Backer Mount Plate corresponding to hoop strike (Part # 35285) (not included)
Note: Aligning the latch and the hoop strike is KEY to proper latch function

Latch & Hoop Strike Installation

Install hoop strike in door frame (it is recommended to use TriMark Backer Mount Plate on the inside of the door jamb to facilitate mounting and adjustability - Part # 35285) (not included)
Close door carefully and check for interference between head of hoop strike and latch components
Adjust hoop strike vertically so door is not guided upward or downward while being closed (See AP050-1900 Application Guide)
CHECK TO DETERMINE THAT BOTH SECONDARY AND PRIMARY LATCHING POSITIONS ARE USABLE
Door should be latched but not "closed" in secondary position and latched to anticipated "closed" position with respect to adjacent surfaces in primary position
If both primary and secondary positions are not evident, readjust hoop strike
After installation, check door alignment and door seal pressures

TriMark hoop strikes are designed and tested to meet or exceed FMVSS 206 (ECE R11) safety requirements only when used with TriMark's corresponding FMVSS 206 (ECE R11) compliant latches.
