bauma Munich in a Word – WOW!


The 2013 edition of bauma Munich was so massive in it's scope that it almost bordered on sensory overload. With 530,000 visitors from over 200 countries (This edition of bauma broke all previous records for exhibitor numbers and exhibition space),the event was at least two-and-a-half times larger than bauma China in 2012 and almost five-times as large as the 2010 edition of ConExpo. As an attendee, you needed to be prepared with a plan of which exhibitor you were going to visit and where they were located in the many buildings and outside display areas. Wearing comfortable shoes was a must!

bauma Munich is always an exciting show for TriMark because it attracts many of our global OEM customers. These customers attend to view and evaluate new and exciting products from TriMark and other vendors that may be used in their own future products.

TriMark Introduces the New 080-0500 Grapple Style Compression Latch


This new
080-0500 Grapple Style Compression Latch is designed for compartments, access panels and hoods for off-highway vehicle applications that are subject to high vibration loads. Because of its opposing jaws (patent pending), it is able provide a high level of resistance to vibration, shock and wear.

Other product details include:

  • Its use in gasketed applications meets requirements for environmental sealing, noise and airflow management.
  • Locking options include a standard padlock hasp with key locking provision to add a cam lock for increased security or keyed alike to common lock codes to match paddle actuators used for operator enclosures or available non-locking
  • Intuitive open and close actuation does not require a turning operation
  • Handle provides over-center action and remains up (flagged) when latch is open providing clear open/closed status

Global Market Footprint with Local Content and Contact

 

If you had the opportunity to attend the recent bauma Munich tradeshow you know how important these huge international tradeshows have become. You will see specific details in the attached article, but this show attracted 530,000 visitors from 200 countries. Companies such as TriMark make a huge investment every year to participate in these events because it is increasingly important to promote our products and services where our customers and prospects are "manufacturing and shopping." Each year we evaluate which tradeshows we need to attend and this list keeps growing as our markets, both geographically and industry specific, keep expanding. For example, we participated in bauma India for the first time this year because we have been experiencing a real up tick in inquires and interest from that region and wanted to introduce our products, resources and capabilities to one of the most rapidly expanding markets in the world.

As our markets expand one of the challenges is determining how we get those products to market in an efficient manner. One strategy is to use the full global resources of our company while also supplying products containing local content which is becoming an increasingly frequent mandate from our customers. It is also important to many of our customers that we have a local contact available to them for as a resource for consultation. Easier said than done to find the right fit but we have made some great strides in making this type of resource available.

Sales continue to be strong and for this we are grateful to our loyal customers who have placed their trust and faith in TriMark's ability to meet the challenges in an increasingly competitive and regulatory-driven world.

Summer here in Iowa has finally arrived after a much-cooler than average spring. Parts of Iowa experienced the wettest May and June on record! Wherever you are please have a fun and safe summer season.

TriMark's Attendance at Work Truck Show a Success with a Near-record Crowd

 

The 2013 edition of the Work Truck Show has been deemed a major success by TriMark as well as the National Truck Equipment Assn. (NTEA). This year's show had a verified attendance of 10,351 people, just 51 shy of the record set last year, organizers said, despite the massive snowstorm that rolled across the country stranding many who had planned to attend.

Many of the show's attendees stopped at the TriMark booth to check out TriMark's 030-2500 2-point Paddle Handle which is designed for storage, compartment and access doors for light to medium duty on or off-road applications. It features 2-point pivot activation with robust construction for a very cost effective price.

Also of interest was TriMark exclusive e-ASK (electronic Access & Security Keyless-entry) technology. The featured product was a programmable keyless touch pad – the 540-0125 e-PAD with relays - with a battery pack utilizing 8-AA batteries. With over 3,000 possible code combinations with a tamper lock-out feature as well a lighted keypad for more effective night time usage, it has become just the solution that OEM service body and storage compartment manufacturers were seeking.

This stand-alone keypad provides cost-effective and simple power door lock/door latch and unlatch control. The keypad features on-board relays and provides increased security and convenience with limited functionality to minimize system and installation cost. Demanding users in the travel trailer, tool box, and tow and motorized RV market will appreciate the high-end functionality at a value price.

Utilizing the e-ASK technology, TriMark has been on the cutting edge in the development of power locking solutions for compartment doors. Where both convenience and security are a requirement, TriMark has the answer.
